How do I play?

Every day you get the same seven playing cards as everyone else, each with a letter. Tap cards to spell a word of three or more letters, then tap Play it. Your score is the word's length times the poker hand made by the cards you used. You get three plays a day; your best one counts.

What are the hands worth?

High Card ×1: No matching ranks and no run. Any word scores at least this. Pair ×2: Two cards of the same rank, like two 9s. Two Pair ×3: Two different pairs, like two 9s and two Kings. Three of a Kind ×4: Three cards of the same rank. Straight ×5: Five ranks in a row, any suits. Ace can be high or low. Flush ×6: Five or more cards of the same suit, any ranks. Full House ×7: Three of a kind plus a pair, like three 9s and two Kings. Four of a Kind ×8: All four cards of one rank. Straight Flush ×10: Five in a row, all one suit. The rarest hand and the biggest multiplier.

What counts toward my streak?

Playing today's deal on the day it is dealt. Past deals you play later from the Archive count in your stats but not your streak. Pro's Streak Shield forgives one missed day each month.

What do the hints cost?

Hints never cost money. Vowels (how many vowels the best word has) costs 1 point and Max score (the highest score possible today) costs 3 points, taken off every play you make that day. Each can be used once per deal.

What is in Pro?

Pro is a one-time $3.99 purchase, no subscription. It unlocks the Late Deal (a second hand every day), every past deal to play, full stats and records, the list of every word for a finished deal, Bonus Deals, and the Streak Shield.

Do I need an account?

No. Suit Spell has no accounts and no sign-in. Your plays live on your phone and nothing you type ever leaves it.

I'm getting a new phone. Will I lose my history?

Your Pro purchase is always restorable from Settings, and every past deal is always available. Your personal history rides along in your phone's normal backup (iCloud on iPhone, Google's backup on Android). For a copy you keep yourself, use Back up my history in Settings and restore it on the new phone.

Where do the words come from?

A public-domain English word list of about 51,000 words, with offensive words removed. The day's best word is always a common word. Definitions on the result screen come from Wiktionary.

Is this gambling?

No. Poker hands are only the scoring rule. There are no bets, chips, wagers, or prizes, and nothing to win or lose but points.
